Annapurna Sanctuary Base Camp Trek
Annapurna Encounter welcomes travelers from families, school / collage groups, nature lovers and adventurer to Annapurna Sanctuary & Base Camp, a trip for all in the overwhelming Himalayan destination, where altitude does not much affect you, as this trekking reach at little over 4,000 meters at the Annapurna base camp, this makes you free from altitude sickness and to enjoy the surrounding natural beauty at ease.
Annapurna Sanctuary & Base Camp with Annapurna Encounter starts with an interesting drive to famous touristic place at Pokhara where the Annapurna Himalaya and towering Mt. Machhapuchhre “Fish Tail” reflects on the pristine Phewa Lake at scenic Pokhara the door to most of Annapurna & Dhaulagiri to Mustang area journey starts.
After Pokhara with short drive to begin this wonderful trekking leading to a beautiful spot at Ghorepani walking through enchanting rhododendron forest with grandeur views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range of mountains.
From Ghorepani a short hike to Pun Hill at 3,190 meters for stunning sunrise over the chain of snow capped mountains from Dhaulagiri, Nilgiris, and Annapurna as far to Mt. Manaslu in the eastern horizon. After a scenic trek walk continues with great views towards Annapurna Sanctuary & Base Camp passing traditional Gurung villages and finally into the Sanctuary and Annapurna Base Camp where you will be surrounded by giant peaks with Annapurna at 8,091 m / 26, 545 ft, Annapurna South (7,219m-23,693ft), Gangapurna (7,455m-24,457ft) and Annapurna III (7,555m-24,787ft). Annapurna Sanctuary & Base Camp stretches to Mt. Machhapuchhre (Fish-tail) Base Camp the start and exit point of the Sanctuary.
After a fabulous time heading back to Pokhara by an alternative route from Chomrong village onwards with constant beautiful views of Himalayan peaks all the way to scenic Pokhara, concluding this awesome journey in the comfort of nice hotels by the lake Phewa.

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani 2,874m - 05 hrs.
Day 06: Morning hike to Pun-Hill and trek to Tadapani 2,721m - 05 hrs.
Day 07: Trek to Chomrong 1,951m - 06 hrs.
Day 08: Trek to Dovan 2,130m via Bamboo 2,050m - 06 hrs.
Day 09: Trek to Machhapuchhre Base Camp 3,720m - 06 hrs.
Day 10: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,095m - 04 hrs.
Day 11: Trek to Bamboo via Deurali, Himalaya hotel and Dovan - 06 hrs.
Day 12: Trek to Jhinu danda 1,700m after Chomrong - 05 hours.
Day 13: Trek to Potana 1,900 m - 05 hrs.
Day 14: Trek to Dhampus 1,530 m and drive to Pokhara.
Day 15: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu afternoon free at leisure.
Day 16: International departure homeward bound.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu meet our staff and transfer to hotel.
On reaching Kathmandu international airport our AE staff will receive with a transfer to hotel in the hub of Kathmandu around Thamel area, an interesting place with shops, stores, international standard restaurants. Our guide will meet and inform you with details of the hotels and trekking to Annapurna Sanctuary & base camp and more.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Morning our city guide will meet and take you on sightseeing tour at places of interest. Kathmandu city and the surrounding valley steeped with history, culture. Kathmandu is full of World Heritage Sites with old Temples, Monasteries, Stupas, Royal Courtyard and Palaces, afternoon free at leisure preparation for the trip to Annapurna.
Day 03: Drive to Pokhara 950m - 06 hrs journey distance 220 k.m.
Morning after having breakfast, drive to Pokhara on the interesting busy main Nepal highway through number of farm villages and towns with scenic landscapes and of snow capped mountains along the drive and finally reaching at famous tourist place at Pokhara the gateway to many trekking destination around Annapurna, Dhaulagiri to Mustang area.
Day 04: Drive to Nayapul 1,100m begin trek to Tirkhedhuga 1,450m.
After a fine time in Pokhara with the views of Annapurna and Machhapuchhre peaks and the serene lake Phewa, morning a 2 hrs drive on the suburb of Pokhara valley leading at Nayapul to start this wonderful walk, at first trek leads by the river Modi to a nice village at Bhirethati and onwards overlooking cascading waterfalls and passing through many farm villages till overnight stop is reached at Tirkhedhunga with nice waterfalls nearby.
Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani 2,874m - 05 hours.
Starting the morning walk with a climb on stone steps towards Ulleri village with nice stone slate roofed typical country houses, on reaching the top ridge of Ulleri, walk gets better on the winding path through serene alpine forest of firs, rhododendron and pine trees and walking over crystal clear streams with few steep ups to Ghorepani Deurali, where superb views of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna mountains can be seen from the overnight lodge itself.
Ghorepani located in the midst of nice forest on the route to Jomsom and Mustang area, this is an old Trans Himalayan Salt Trade Route between Nepal and Tibet which is beyond upper Mustang.
Day 06: Morning hike to Pun-Hill, trek to Tadapani 2,721m - 05 hrs.
Depending upon the clear early morning sky with an hour climb to the top of Pun Hill at Pun-Hill at 3,190m offering glorious panorama and sunset views over array of Himalayan mountains from world’s highest 7th Mt. Dhaulagiri 8,167 meters, Tukuche Peak 6,730 meters, Nilgiris of over 6,000 meters, Annapurna Fang or Vara Shikhar, Annapurna I at 8,091 meters A II-III and IV with Mt. Machhapuchhre at 6,997 meters and of world’s 8th highest Mt. Manaslu range at 8,163 meters. After catching the wonderful moment carry on trekking to overnight destination at Tadapani through lovely woodlands and continuous views of mountains all the way to our overnight halt at Tadapani.
Day 07: Trek to Chomrong 1,951m - 06 hours.
Morning walk leads to a descend through beautiful forest and mountains view on reaching the bottom of the hill crossing the raging Modi river with a climb uphill for few hours and then the walk gets pleasant on the winding track to the top of Chomrong village, near to Chomrong a short downhill on steps to the lodge for overnight stop with views of Annapurna South and Huinchuli with Mt. Machhapuchhre “Fish Tail”.
Chomrong a large Gurung tribe village and this is the last permanent settlement before Annapurna Sanctuary, while the lodges on route are for trekking season only.
Day 08: Trek to Dovan 2,130m via Bamboo 2,050m - 06 hours.
From Chomrong morning walk with a descend to the bridge and with a steep climb for an hour and then gets better with gradual winding uphill for few hours to Sinuwa danda hill top, where there is 2-3 lodges offering spectacular views of surrounding landscapes with Modi River gorge leading to Sanctuary, from here an hour walk through the forest and downhill to Bamboo a small settlement with 5-6 lodges to serve the trekkers located on the Modi River gorge in the middle of thick bamboo, rhododendron and oaks forest.
After brief stop 2 hours of good walk brings to Dovan for overnight stop with the sound of river close to the lodge.
Day 09: Trek to Machhapuchhre Base Camp 3,720m - 06 hrs.
Slowly the walk get to higher elevation with cooler air and trekking through forest with steep up for some time, with gradual path in between and reaching at Hinko Cave beneath the towering peaks of Huinchuli a short descend to Himalaya hotel for a brief stop and then heading downhill on the glacier landslide by the river with a steep up for short while to Deurali the last lodge before Machhapuchhre base camp, here with lunch or refreshing stop journey continues as the vegetation and tree lines declines for few alpine bushes following the raging Modi river upstream all the way to overnight stop at Machhapuchhre Base Camp a lovely spot beneath the towering North West Face of Mt. Machhapuchhre “Fish Tail” with views of A III and AI towards West.
Day 10: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4, 095m - 04 hours.
From this point starts the Annapurna Sanctuary area inside the Annapurna mountain corridor, today a short walk for 3 hours to reach at Annapurna base camp and the final destination and the main highlight of this fabulous trip, walk leads up on the grassy slope and then the walk gets pleasant on the level ground between towering peaks of Annapurna South, Huinchuli, Tent Peak or Tharpuchuli with AI and Vara Shikhar towards north, after a wonderful morning walk reaching to our destination at Annapurna base camp the highest stop of this trip at 4,095 meters, offering close views of the surrounding mountains with Annapurna I at a mere distance and its glacier below the camp.
Annapurna area was first explored by the British Adventure Col. James O.M. \'Jimmy\' Roberts in the year 1956 and exposed to the world as the \'Sanctuary of Gods\'. The Sanctuary has been christened as \"Annapurna Sanctuary\" ever since.
Day 11: Trek to Bamboo 2,050 m - 06 hours.
Morning with awesome views of the sunrise and mountains heading back to Bamboo by the same route, but with a change this time on the downhill slope with few short ups to Bamboo for overnight stop.
Day 12: Trek to Jhinu danda 1,700m via Chomrong 06 hours.
From Bamboo leaving the Modi River gorge with a short steep up to Khuldi Ghar, and then on the winding path through the dense woodland to Sinuwa danda ridge top, after catching the views of beautiful landscapes descend to Chomrong khola, and then leading to steep climb on stone steps all the way to overnight stop at Chomrong village for lunch. Afternoon walk with a short up to the top of Chomrong and then heading down hill for few hours to a nice place of Jhinu danda for overnight stop, this place with a hot spring nearby about 20 mins down near River Modi.
Day 13: Trek to Pothana 1, 900 m - 05 hrs.
After a refreshing time at Jhinu, morning starts with long downhill on nicely paved stone steps to Nayapul ( New Bridge) a small village, from here crossing the river Modi with a gentle walk on the winding path in this warmer area with paddy terraces and patch of forest, where monkeys can be seen sometime around this area, after a nice walk with few ups and down reaching a large village at Landruk with a break here, walk continues on the gentle trail overlooking nice views of terraces landscapes and of Annapurna South, Huinchuli, then a climb of 45 mins to Deurali top, with few lodges and views of Pokhara valley, Gandruk village with Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna range.
From here a gentle downhill walk brings to a beautiful overnight stop at Pothana with awesome scenery including stunning views of towering
Mt. Machhapuchhre “Fish Tail”.
Day 14: Trek to Dhampus 1,530 m and drive to Pokhara.
Today the last leg of this trekking journey, morning walk along with the fabulous views heading downhill through woodlands and reaching at Dhampus village on a ridge top with awesome panorama of Annapurna and Manaslu range of mountains, here taking jeep drive all the way to Pokhara a drive of one hour concluding this wonderful trip on the famous tourist spot at Pokhara by the lake Phewa.
Day 15: Drive of fly back to Kathmandu.
After a wonderful time in the high mountains and hills, taking a morning driving journey back to Kathmandu, on reaching Kathmandu after 5-6 hours of nice interesting drive, transfer to respective hotels with afternoon free at leisure or last day shopping souvenirs and handicrafts.
(Optional flight back to Kathmandu of 34 mins with great views)
Day 16: International departure for home ward bound.
Last day in Nepal with memorable moment and awesome experience and good time with Annapurna Encounter services, as per the international flight time our AE staff will transfer you to airport for the flight back home or to respective countries.

It is linked by the main highway of 200 km driving distance from Kathmandu, and by air approximately 20 to 30 minutes flight with a sweeping panoramic views of the mid east to western Himalayan ranges.
Mother Nature has certainly blessed this fertile valley with outstanding scenery of the landscapes, snow capped mountains, moderate tropical climate, and beautiful pristine lakes of Begnas, Rupa and Phewa.
The most stunning of Pokhara\'s sights is the magnificent panorama of the Annapurna range which forms its backdrop. Annapurna massif includes Annapurna I to IV and Annapurna South.
Among these high peaks it is the towering majestic Mt. Machhapuchare (Fish Tail) which dominates all others in this range.
