Dhaulagiri and Mt. Machapuchere “The Fish Tail”, trekking through serene woodlands of rhododendron, oaks, firs and many species of firs trees including many types of vegetation enrich with flora and fauna, trekking past the holy Muktinath and towards scenic Kaligandaki valley listed as world’s deepest gorge (taken from the worlds 7th highest Mt. Dhaulagiri 8,167 m & 10th highest Mt. Annapurna at 8,095 meters drop from the summit towards Kaligandaki valley gorge).

Annapurna Circuit & Kaligandaki trekking leads past beautiful villages and towards Pokhara valley on scenic route of Ghorepani with Pun Hill for striking sunrise over 400 k.m. wide Himalayan range of mountains and then concluding this awesome trip at famous tourist spot in Pokhara with its pristine lake Phewa and Annapurna range of mountains towards North.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu meet our staff and transfer to hotel.
On reaching Kathmandu international airport our AE staff will receive with a transfer to hotel in the hub of Kathmandu around Thamel area, an interesting place with shops, stores, international standard restaurants. Our guide will meet and inform you with details of the hotels and trekking to Annapurna Circuit & Kaligandaki Valley and more.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Morning our city guide will meet and take you on sightseeing tour at places of interest. Kathmandu city and the surrounding valley steeped with history, culture. Kathmandu is full of World Heritage Sites with old Temples, Monasteries, Stupas, Royal Courtyard and Palaces, afternoon free at leisure preparation for the trip to Annapurna.

Day 03: Drive to Chamje 1,560 m via Beshishar 823m - 08 hrs journey.
Starting early morning for the long drive to Chamje around Lamjung area before Manang, the drive leads on the main busy and interesting highway for few hours following Trisuli river downstream, on leaving the river heading west at Dumre town from here our route diverts towards north from the main Kathmandu / Pokhara highway and arriving in Beshisar a large town the headquarter of Lamjung area, after a short stop drive continues on the winding country road to Chamje village, passing several pretty villages of Khudi, Bulbule, Syange and Jagat following the river Marsyangdi upstream and the finally ending the day drive at Chamje village, a moderate size village developing into a town slowly, here overnight in a nice lodge. From here onwards a Tibetan way of life style, culture and Buddhism religion.

Day 04: Trek to Dharapani 1,860m - 05hrs.
First day of trekking from this nice busy village of Chamje located in a river gorge of Marsyangdi, morning walk leads to cross a bridge over the same raging river to Talbesi on the winding gradual path for few hours and then a short climb and descend to a large river valley at Talbesi for lunch, from here onwards in Manang district after leaving Lamjung area. A nice large village with beautiful waterfalls, from here walking for another 2-3 hours following Marsyangdi River and re-crossing the same river couple of times and passing many farm villages and finally reaching at Dharapani a nice spread out village with many nice lodge and guest houses to stay. From here onwards altitude gets higher and cooler in this alpine region.

Day 05: Trek to Chame 2,715m - 05 hrs.
After a pleasant stop at Dharapani, morning walk starts on a pleasant wide trail with beautiful coniferous forest of rhododendron, pines and fir tall tree lines Chame, overlooking views of Annapurna II, Lamjung Himal North Face and on the back Mt. Manaslu range of peaks, and then reaching at Bagarchap and Danque village from here an hour steep climb to Timang village for lunch stop with awesome panorama of surrounding snow capped mountains. Timang a nice village of mixed tribe of hill people Manang, Magar and Gurung. After lunch another 2-3 hours of good walk reaches at Koto village where the route to Chame and Narphu splits. After Koto a short uphill walk into nice cool forest for an hour reaching at Chame town for overnight stop in one of the good lodges around.
Chame is also a headquarter district of Manang district located by the river Marsyangdi and views of Lamjung Himal North Face with Annapurna II and of Manaslu mountain range towards east.

Day 06: Trek to Pisang 3,185m - 05 hrs.
From Chame with wonderful time and then starting our walk crossing the river and with a short steep climb into forested area of pines and rhododendron trees and following the river Marsyangdi all the way upstream and leading to cross the river coming from Pisang and Chulu peaks glacier, and then with a gradual climb into woodland to reach at lunch spot at Dhukri Pokharai a small place with few lodge overlooking beautiful views of Pisang peak and of Chulu east peak with Pisang village down on the valley. After lunch descend towards Pisang village entering Manang windswept, dry arid valley with few tree lines, before Pisang rows of long prayer wheels and transfer in the best lodge at Pisang village beneath the towering Pisang peak towering at 6,091 meters / 19,984 ft high.

Day 07: Trek to Manang 3,350m - 04 hrs.
Starting the morning walk which is an average walk of 4-5 hours into Manang village and its arid, windswept valley but picturesque and of great contrast with brown hills, white snow capped peaks against the blue sky.
Walk continues over a small ridge with awesome scenery of wide valley of Manang and of high mountains on both side of this arctic landscape country, a slow downhill to Humde village with small airstrip, from here reaching at Braga village with its old important monastery of Manang area, worth a visit to Braga monastery with ancient artifacts and statue of various Buddha with mind blowing panorama of snow capped mountains towards northern Annapurna range and of Pisang, Chulu’s peaks. After a wonderful time here carry on trekking for an hour to proper Manang village for tow night stay in one of its many excellent lodges.

Day 08: Rest day at Manang for acclimatization and hike.
A rest day with extra night here at Manang which is very important for acclimatization on this high altitude to be fit for the high Thorang-la pass at 5,416 meters, Manang village of near 500 flat-roofed houses, one of the most picturesque setting with spectacular scenery looking over Annapurna II, Annapurna III [7,555 mtrs.], Gangapurna [7,454 mtrs.] to the South - Tilicho [7,132 mtrs.] and the Grand Barrier to the West - Chulu West [6,583 mtrs.] and Chulu East [6,059 mtrs.] to the North. Visit the Gangapurna massive ice fall and glacier which forms the emerald lake of Manang which is just an hour walk uphill.

Day 09: Trek to Yak Kharka 4,130m - 04 hrs.
After a pleasant and wonderful rest at Manang village, morning walk leads to a slow climb for an hour, after the last village of Manang at Tenki, the trail gently winds up with inspiring views of Annapurna II, Gangapurna, Tiloche peak and close views of all Chuli’s peaks, walk continues passing few scattered summer pasture and tea shops along the way in the barren windswept terrain\'s with only juniper bushes the only surviving vegetation of this region, and then reaching at Yak-Kharka a small place with 4-5 lodges for overnight stop. Here for lunch and night stay with ample time for a short hike around this amazing country.
The trail from here leads to a slow climb up, after the last settlement of Ledar, the track gently winds up offering grand views of the Annapurna II, Gangapurna, Tiloche and the close up view of Chuli peaks as the trail heads up in the barren windswept terrain\'s, then slowly reaching at Thorang Phedi for the overnight.

Day 10: Trek to Thorung High Camp 4,600m - 04hrs.
From this nice little place in a plateau morning walk leads to the base of Thorang-la following the path on this amazing terrain with slow climb and then down to a river after crossing on a bridge a steep haul for 30 minutes and back to gentle walking all the way to Thorang phedi, here at Phedi depending on fitness if all is well here after lunch time with a climb on the zig-zag track towards Upper Phedi or High Camp with 2-3 lodges, staying here for overnight helps to reach Thorang-la on time and making an hour shorter for next big day.

Day 11: Trek to Muktinath 3,800m via Thorang-la 5,415m - 06 hrs.
Today a big and long day of this awesome journey, starting bit earlier with proper warm clothes as the wind chill can be quite cold and nasty sometimes, walking on the gentle uphill on the winding mountain path reaching hills after hill and eventually reaching the top of Thorang-la the highest point of this fabulous trip at 5,416 meters / 17,700 ft. The pass is heavily decorated with prayer flags with unmatched views looking at Mt. Dhaulagiri range of mountains, Tukuche peaks and of Damador Himal range including Annapurna II, IV, Tilicho peak and Gangapurna Himal, after marveling the super panorama, a long descend awaits, leading on the gravel path for a while and then on the rocks and muddy trail to the bottom of the pass where there is few small lodges, after having a rest or lunch continue walk on the good pleasant trail for an hour reaching at the holy place of Muktinath visit the Temple premises with its 108 fresh spring water spouts, this is one of the source of Kaligandaki river also, after a holy and exciting moment and tired reach the lodge nearby with views of Mt. Dhaulagiri North Face and Tukuche peak.

Day 12: Trek to Marpha 2,670m - 06 hrs.
From today onwards walk will be quite easier on the downhill trail and losing altitude and with great different scenery on the Kaligandaki river valley and gorge for few days before the climb to Ghorepani and Pun Hill, starting with a gentle descend following the wide jeep road passing few smaller villages of Jharkot, with tremendous views of arid and barren country on this new Mustang area, after few hours of good walk reaching at Kaligandaki river valley and to the big town of Jomsom with its small airport, where every morning flights takes place to Pokhara and Kathmandu on smaller planes. Jomsom, headquarter of whole Mustang district. After a stop here walk carries on the wide road reaching at Marpha after few hours of easy walk on this windy afternoon.
Marpha a charming village with white washed paints on every stone built houses, and this place is famous for delicious apples and its product like dry apples and apricots, apple brandy, local brew and ciders.

Day 13: Trek to Lete 2,480m - 06hrs.
After an enjoyable time in Marpha walking on the good trail passing the villages of Tukuche, Kobang and Larjung situated just beneath the towering Tukuche peak, from Larjung crossing the wide Kaligandaki river valley reaching back to green vegetations and tree lines of pines and rhododendrons, with few short ups and on the gradual path to Kalopani another nice village beneath the massive
Mt. Dhaulagiri and its tumbling ice falls and glaciers with views of rare face of Annapurna I with Nilgiri’s peaks a short walk from Kalopani brings to Lete for overnight stop with great views of giant mountains on each side forming the world’s deepest gorge of Kaligandaki river.

Day 14: Trek to Tatopani 1,190m - 06 hrs.
From Lete catching the marvelous scenery journey continues on the downhill walk with few ups in between reaching at Ghasa village and end of Mustang district, from here reaching towards warmer area of citric fruits like oranges and fields of paddy cultivation, then passing the village of Dana and coming at Tatopani (Hot Water formed by the hot spring by the river Kaligandki) Tatopani a nice village which looks like smaller version of Thamel in Kathmandu. Here with time for a dip in the hot pools to ease the weary muscles from the long walk of this journey.

Day 15: Trek to Ghorepani 2,750m - 06 hrs.
After a refreshing time in Tatopani village with its hot spring, starting with a nice walk, on leaving the Kaligandaki River behind a steep up for few hours to the farm village of Ghara, from here walk is on the gradual uphill’s till Chitre village passing several nice looking villages of Sikha and Phalute with continuous views of Mt. Dhaulagiri and its massif range or peaks, after hours of nice trekking coming at Chitre village, from here into a serene woodlands of rhododendron and pines trees with steep climb to Ghorepani, located on the old Trans Himalayan Salt Trade Route of Nepal / Tibet via Mustang.
This place offers superb views of Mt. Dhaulagiri range of peaks, Nilgiri’s, Annapurna Fang “Vara Shikar” Annapurna South and Huinchuli, Ghorepani a busy trekking destination with its nice many lodges to stay.

Day 16: Trek to Tirkhedhunga 1,500m - 05 hrs.
Early morning before breakfast (if it’s a clear morning) worth a hike for an hour to the top of Pun Hill at 3,190 meters for striking sunrise views over chain of mountain panorama from the peak of Dolpo, Mustang, Mt.Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri’s, Annapurna range with Mt. Machapuchere “Fish Tail” and of Mt. Manaslu range in the east. After a fabulous moment descend back to Ghorepani for breakfast and continue downhill walk through enchanting forest to Tirkhedhunga for overnight stop.

Day 17: Trek to Nayapul 1,100m and drive to Pokhara 860m.
Today, the last leg of the walking journey of this trip from Tirkhedunga with its beautiful waterfalls, walk leads to more descend passing several farm areas and villages to reach another lovely village at Bhirethati by the river Modi with sole view of towering Mt. Machapuchere above the Modi River, from here a short walk leads to the road head at Nayapul in the warmer region of Beni, Baglung / Pokhara highway for an interesting drive to famous tourist spot at Pokhara after 2 hours of good ride, at Pokhara with many good hotels by the beautiful Phewa lake for overnight stop, with afternoon free for stroll around the lake side which is full of shops, restaurants, banks and stores.

Day 18: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu.
After a wonderful time in the high mountains and hills, taking a morning driving journey back to Kathmandu, on reaching Kathmandu after 5-6 hours of nice interesting drive, transfer to respective hotels with afternoon free at leisure or last day shopping souvenirs and handicrafts.
(Optional flight back to Kathmandu of 35 minutes with great views)

Day 19: International departure for home ward bound.
Last day in Nepal with memorable moment and awesome experience and good time with Annapurna Encounter services, as per the international flight time our AE staff will transfer you to airport for the flight back home or to respective countries.
